BAWDS - Cambridge's other established amateur drama production company, with many credits and a lot of detail on current, future and past productions.

The Penguin Club - The Penguin Club exists to provide backstage support to amateur societies in and around Cambridge. Its services are provided free; and within its membership there are Set Designers, Lighting Designers and Sound Engineers. It will put a call out for Crew, has several SMs and ASMs; and experts in Props. This highly respected club attempts to provide as much technical backup as required for the successful staging of a society's performances.

Cambridge Drama Festival - Details of one of the most prestigious One-Act Drama Festivals.

The Cambridge Drama Centre / The Junction - Presents a varied programme of amateur and professional productions. Regular features include workshop sessions, classes and children's theatre. This popular and well-supported Cambridge venue has comfortable seating (reasonably priced) and a bar (which allows patrons to take their drinks into the auditorium!). A new theatre / performing space is currently under construction at The Junction site in Cambridge.

The Cambridge Operatic Society - a group of amateur singers who perform in the Arts Theatre, Cambridge, usually in the last week of November each year, under a professional director. For more, please visit the site.

The Festival Players - A group of enthusiastic amateur performers who currently produce one major musical production each year. Also stage a variety of workshops, concerts and social events.

Waterbeach Community Players - A village group which encourages membership not only from Waterbeach but also from further afield. Please visit the company's website.

Cottenham Theatre Workshop - A village group drawing talent from within Cottenham and further afield. The group stages three productions a year. Their website is well worth a visit.

Girton Players - Girton Players is a village theatre group, formed in October 1995. The group stages two or three productions a year at the Glebe School in Girton and, on occasions, Impington Village College. The group has also successfully participated in the Cambridge Drama Festival. Holds open auditions for its productions.

The Over Players - An amateur group established over 20 years ago specialising mainly in musical theatre, pantomime, farce and music hall productions.

St John's Players - St John's Players are a long established theatre group, formed in 1947. The group stages three productions a year at the Fulbourn Centre, Fulbourn. It holds open auditions for its productions, and new members are always welcome.

Ely Amateur Dramatic Society - The Ely area has a wealth of talent and several very welcoming theatrical groups. Dramatists Play Services Inc. - Details on the latest American play releases. One very good feature on this site is the Playfinder service which allows you to feed in your cast specifications and then produces a list of possible productions for your consideration. Sawston Drama Festival - Comedy, drama, tragedy, premieres.. . they may all be seen at the Sawston Drama Festival. A variety of groups kick-start the region's one-act drama festival circuit, offering the opportunity for you to come along and enjoy the best of local and regional talent. In recent years several groups who chose to start their festival run at Sawston have gone on to compete in both the All England and the NDFA All Winners Final. This Festival is affiliated to the NDFA. 
WRiTE ON Script-writing Forum
WRiTEON is a Cambridge-based group that stages rehearsed readings of new drama, enabling writers to develop their work and offering actors and directors opportunities to bring new material to life on stage for the first time. We also run workshops on writing, acting, directing and performance improvisation and hold a regular feedback group for scripts in progress.
